Commercial Projects Green County - The Lodge, Fulham
BACKGROUNDAs with all the projects undertaken with Green County the standard of work for all the contractors is very high. Timing is crucial but the attention to detail must not be compromised. At this brand new luxury home in Fulham, Middlesex Marble were involved in the stone works for all the bathrooms, the kitchen work surfaces, and a spectacular stone feature wall in the pool area.
PROJECT DETAILSThe bathrooms were all designed by Paul Green using a mixture of classic marbles and modern quartz. Marron Imperial, Crema Marfil, Emperador, and spectacular book matched Calacatta Oro marble in the master en suite, with pure white Silestone quartz on the floor. In the kitchen, Silestone quartz with shark nosed edge detail complimented the handmade mitred draws, giving a modern, sleek look to the kitchen island. As with a piece of art, Titanium granite (a full slab measuring 3 x 1.8!) was cut into three sections and mounted on the wall in the pool area, in an exact recess cut out from the polished plaster.
INSTALLATIONUsing big pieces of stone requires careful planning and co ordination. The feature wall in the master en-suite is a good example of this. A whole slab of Calacatta Oro was used and fixed to a specially designed box set off from the wall. The perimeter of the box was lit up by an LED lighting strip. This slab mirrors the book matched shower surround on the opposite side of the bathroom. The overall effect is stunning and just leaves the question how on earth did they get a whole slab of marble (3mx2m) in the bathroom!
